Elegant Colonial City on the Western shores of Lake Cocibolca
Are you looking to travel to a less touristy city with both it's natural environment and heritage intact? Look no further than Granada, Nicaragua. Enjoy your day at the town park or exploring the amazing yellow Cathedral of Granada. Founded in 1523, this city quickly became the economic hub of the region as well as being home to the Conservative party of Nicaragua's headquarters. After spending a couple of weeks in Nicaragua I would argue that this was one of my top 3 favorite cities that I've ever been to. Although the city is alive and colorful with almost every building being painted a different color, I would argue that the people who live there were the best part of the city. Although every country is filled with many kind hearted people, I have never run into so many kind and hospitable people until coming to this city.
